対馬海洋包丁 │ Tsushima Ocean Knife

長崎県対馬で回収された海洋プラスチックを原材料として活用し、包丁の柄を製造しました。軽量で握りやすい八角の柄は、使いやすさとフィット感にも配慮した設計となっています。さらに、柄にはNFCチップが搭載されており、スマートフォンでそのチップを読み込むことで製品の背景やストーリーを伝えることが可能です。地域資源とものづくりをつなぐ製品として、国内外のお客様からご好評をいただいています。

The handle of this knife is made using ocean plastic collected from Tsushima, Nagasaki Prefecture. Its lightweight octagonal shape is designed for both comfort and ease of use. The handle also features an NFC chip, which allows users to learn about the product’s background and story by scanning it with a smartphone. By connecting local resources with craftsmanship, this product has been highly appreciated by customers both in Japan and abroad.

こちらは当社既製品をベースにプロジェクト名を入れ、オリジナル仕様としてご提供した事例です。一般社団法人E-Yoron様は、与論島に漂着する海洋ごみを“ごみではなく資源”として捉え直し、未来の社会に向けたメッセージを発信する活動を展開しています。与論島で回収された海洋プラスチックは、「Change」の文字を刻んだコースターやキーホルダーなどの製品へと生まれ変わり、クラウドファンディングのリターンとして活用されました。小さな島から環境への意識と行動の変化を広げ、この美しい海と地球を未来へとつないでいきたいという想いが込められた地域発のプロジェクトです。

This is a case in which one of our existing products was customized with a project name and offered as an original specification. E-Yoron, a general incorporated association based on Yoron Island, is working to reframe marine debris washed ashore not as waste, but as a valuable resource, while sharing a message for the future. Ocean plastic collected on the island was upcycled into products such as coasters and key holders engraved with the word “Change,” and used as crowdfunding rewards. It is a locally rooted project driven by the hope of inspiring environmental awareness and action from a small island, and of passing on this beautiful sea and planet to future generations.

石けんケース「mu」│Soap Case ”mu”

石けんケース「mu（ムー）」は、buøy、九州産業大学 伊藤研究室様、シャボン玉石けん様、おぢかアイランドツーリズム様の4者連携によって生まれた製品です。形状は、実際に海岸で採取した石をもとに設計されており、手に馴染むサイズ感を追求しながら、環境課題を身近な暮らしの中で考えるきっかけを生み出す製品として完成しました。「mu（ムー）」には、海洋ごみを“0（無）”にすること、そしてシャボン玉石けん様の“無添加”という思想を重ねる意味が込められています。この取り組みは高く評価され、2023年度グッドデザイン賞、2023年度九州ADCアワードソーシャルデザイン部門 大賞、2022年度福岡デザインアワード大賞を受賞しました。

The soap case “mu” was created through a four-way collaboration between buøy, Professor Ito’s Laboratory at Kyushu Sangyo University, Shabondama Soap, and Ojika Island Tourism. Its shape was inspired by stones collected from the seashore and designed to fit naturally in the hand, resulting in a product that connects environmental issues with everyday life. The name “mu” embodies the idea of reducing ocean waste to zero, while also reflecting Shabondama Soap’s philosophy of being additive-free. This initiative was highly acclaimed, receiving the 2023 Good Design Award, the Grand Prize in the Social Design Category at the 2023 Kyushu ADC Awards, and the Grand Prize at the 2022 Fukuoka Design Award.

Large Scale Projects

2025年に大阪で開催された国際的大型イベントの会場内において、海洋プラスチックを活用した外装材が採用されました。この取り組みは、サーキュラーエコノミーの考え方を広く発信することを目的としたものです。使用された約5000枚のパネルは風を受けることで回転し、周囲の環境に応じて多彩な表情を見せる設計となっています。さらに、会期終了後には移設や家具への再利用も見据えており、循環型社会を体現するプロジェクトとなりました。

Exterior materials made from ocean plastic were adopted for a structure at a major international event held in Osaka in 2025. The project was designed to communicate the concept of the circular economy to a broad audience. Around 5,000 panels were installed, each rotating in the wind to create dynamic and ever-changing visual expressions. After the event, the panels were intended to be relocated or recycled into furniture, making the project a tangible example of a circular society.
